Concept lab

Eight candidate features for the site, each a working prototype on its own page. The evidence demos use genuine public data (factory telemetry, a real merged PR); anything representative is labelled as such. Open one, then use the bar at the bottom to move between them.

These are prototypes to choose from — none are wired into the live site yet.

Round two

Ten more — the bolder cuts from the first pass, plus 3D and game-DNA directions.

The Observatory

evidence · live

A page that breathes: real, recent factory activity polled live from public GitHub — 'since you arrived, N events' ticking up while you watch.

3D Factory

signature · WebGL

A slow-turning three.js model of the plan → build → test → ship line — the pipeline as an object you can orbit, not a diagram.

Break Glass

play · wild

Break the page on purpose — the elements fall into a physics pile — then watch the pipeline dispatch a repair and snap it back. The whole thesis in fifteen seconds.

Cannon Drop — one shot

play · game

Drag, aim, fire — a ten-second playable shot of the physics game, drawn in site ink, right beside its card.

Operator Palette

play · ⌘K

Press ⌘K for a dispatch console with real payloads — 'cv --json', 'factory status', 'play cannon-drop' — the reflex every engineer has, rewarded.

tail -f factory.log

play · real log

A real typed terminal whose killer command streams genuine recent factory events from public GitHub at log cadence.

Factory Plates

identity · drawn

Project cards as bespoke single-stroke technical drawings — a ballistic arc for Cannon Drop, a refraction diagram for Prism Light — not screenshots.

Stone at Night

identity · dark

Dark mode as a statement: warm near-black, copper cooled to a worklamp glow, and one line that only night visitors read — 'the factory runs while you sleep.'

Measured Headings

identity · evidence

Your name gets dimension lines and a callout — 20 YRS, 93 SHIPPED — the visual rhetoric of a drawing, annotated with true data.

Brief Mode

conversion

'In a hurry?' collapses the site into a one-screen hiring dossier — identity, scale, proof, availability, contact — and doubles as the print layout.

Round three — graphics

Ten visual pieces — WebGL, generative, and canvas — in the stone/copper palette.

Deploy Globe

graphics · WebGL

A slow-turning wireframe globe with copper arcs from Bristol to every place a Gyrum product ships — the reach of the factory as an object.

3D Wordmark

graphics · WebGL

An extruded copper-on-stone monogram that turns slowly and catches the light — a signature mark you can orbit.

Shader Field

graphics · GLSL

A living copper-on-stone gradient — a hand-written fragment shader flowing behind the hero, calm and organic, never a stock gradient.

Throughput Terrain

graphics · real data

The factory’s real wait/run/lead percentiles sculpted into an orbitable 3D terrain — the numbers as a landscape.

Commit Constellation

graphics · real data

Recent real factory activity from public GitHub, plotted as a slowly-drifting 3D constellation — each star a genuine event.

Isometric Factory

graphics · canvas

A drawn isometric factory floor — four stations, a running conveyor, agents at their posts — the pipeline as a little working diorama.

Stack Graph

graphics · real data

A force-directed graph linking every real project to the tech it’s built with — drag a node and the whole web settles.

Generative Plate

graphics · seeded

A unique plotted drawing generated deterministically from the real deploy SHA — every build would draw its own one-off plate.

Flow Field

graphics · canvas

A calm copper particle flow drifting over stone — a contained, opt-in field of motion drawn in the site’s own ink.

Particle Name

graphics · canvas

Your name assembles from a scatter of copper particles and settles — then holds perfectly still.
